A Life Changed — Loreen’s Story Continues

By January 5, 2026No Comments

Your kindness has made a profound difference in the life of Loreen Lwane, a bright young woman who was initially admitted to St. Anne’s Girls High School. We told the story of meeting Loreen back in the 2023 holiday newsletter. (Click here to read that.) Despite facing academic challenges, Loreen showed remarkable courage and self-awareness by requesting to pursue a more hands-on path in tailoring. Thanks to your support, she is now thriving in her new environment—gaining skills, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose in her third term.

Loreen’s journey is a powerful reminder that success comes in many forms, and with the right support, every girl can find her path and flourish. We believe there are many more girls like Loreen in our Kapkemich community—girls with dreams, resilience, and untapped potential—who simply need someone to believe in them.

Of course, skill-building requires practice, and entrepreneurship requires tools. To that end, two FOSA board members purchased a sewing machine and cabinet on the 2024 trip to Kenya, and that is now the start of a FOSA office “maker space,” where Loreen and other community members can use it during office hours to make repairs or construct garments or other items. A small fee is charged to help maintain the sewing machine.

On behalf of Envision Kenya – Kapkemich and the entire Kapkemich community, we extend our deepest gratitude to each of you for your generous support and unwavering commitment to transforming lives through education and empowerment. With your continued generosity, we can reach more of these girls, provide them with opportunities tailored to their strengths, and help them build brighter futures. Thank you for being part of this mission. Your impact is real, lasting, and deeply appreciated.

With heartfelt thanks,
Envision Kenya Kapkemich Team
