Holiday greetings from Envision Kenya – Ruth Cathy and Ginger
As we enter this season of gratitude, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks for your continued support of Envision Kenya-FOSA.
With your generosity we made incredible strides toward empowering young women in Kenya to pursue their dreams of education. This year in 2024, your contributions have enabled us to provide 309 scholarships at the high school and post-secondary levels, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to break through the barriers that so often limit their potential. Thanks to you, young women are now on their way to brighter futures—equipped not only with knowledge, but also with the confidence to lead, innovate, and make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.
However, the need remains great. As we look ahead to the new year, we invite you to join us once again in making a lasting difference. With your support, we can continue to provide scholarships, expand access to education, and continue to uplift young women who are determined to succeed despite the challenges they face.
This holiday season, please consider making a year-end gift to FOSA. Your donation will directly support 100+ FOSA Scholars as they head back to university or college for the January-May 2025 session, opening doors to brighter futures. Whether you are able to contribute $50, $100, or a larger gift, every dollar helps. Together, we can continue to break down the barriers to education and create opportunities for young women who are ready to change the world.
2024 Highlights
Sarah Kemboi Mwaura, Principal, has been doing impressive work at St. Anne’s!
Implementing new classes like computer lab, home sciences, and French will definitely provide the students with valuable skills and broaden their learning opportunities. The addition of these subjects also shows a commitment to preparing the students for a modern, well-rounded education.
In addition to that, efforts are underway to refresh and clean up the school grounds which shows that she’s focused not just on academics, but also on creating a positive and healthy environment for everyone. A clean, well-maintained school setting can greatly contribute to the overall well-being of both students and staff. The school exterior has been repainted. The current project is to level out the grounds in the front of the school to provide more space for sports activities.
Friends of St. Anne’s – 2024 Highlights
Michel Cheptoo recently graduated from Catholic University with 1st class honors in social work. She served as the president of the student body in 2018-19 at St. Anne’s High School.
Form 4 (seniors) who are taking their Kenya Secondary Education Certification Exam this November. The exam takes 3 weeks of testing with 2-3 tests per subject lasting 2 hours each. How well they do on the exam plays a key role in determining their future.
A recent donation of a projector/ laptop is having a significant positive impact on how mathematics is taught and learned at St. Anne’s. It has opened up a variety of possibilities to enhance both the teaching experience and student engagement through:
- Interactive lessons (dynamic and live)
- Collaborative activities (problem solving and discussions)
- Digital resources (math learning platforms which provide extra practice and instant feedback)
We are grateful to the Leavenworth High School Interact Club for helping purchase the projector. Thanks also to other donors and the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth for their donations to purchase additional laptops and educational tools.
Due to the recent loss of some major donations and a general decline in contributions, FOSA is in urgent need of additional support to continue providing vital scholarships to deserving students. Your generosity has always played a crucial role in our mission, and I am asking you to help FOSA bridge the gap if you are able. Any contribution, no matter the size, would make a significant difference in the lives of our students.
